Devotional: Where is God when our world is flipped upside down?

Amidst Covid-19, our worlds have been completely flipped upside down. If you're like me, maybe you're kind of looking for God in the midst of the chaos.

Open up your Bible with me to Lamentations and let's see where God is. Lamentations is a book in the Old Testament that describes the emotions, fear, and grief when their world is flipped upside down when they go into exile. So where is God in their chaos? He's right there in the middle.

Lamentations 3:22-23 "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

Right in the middle of a book on grief, they offer hope and praise for God's goodness. Right in the middle of our grief and confusion, God is right there! Let us not get caught up in the world, but let us be hopeful in God's promises and faithfulness.
